My first thought when I read the quote was chaos and the chaos we create in our lives. I'm sure that's not what it means. But that's what I got from it..
And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever. My people will abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.
There are days.. Days when I feel like I'm on the right path and other days when I feel like I'm on the path of fools.
I know when I am on the wrong path it's because I am trying to control or solve all my problems. I think I know what the answer is or I know what's best for me. Leaning on my own understanding oftentimes leads me down the path of fools..
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
I guess it's all about mornings for me this week.
In the morning when I rise, give me Jesus
I often think about the love of God. How amazing and overwhelming it is. I mean as humans we feel emotions. Love, hate, indifference. We feel all of these things.
But when I think about what it's going to be like. Standing before the Lord. I know I'm going to answer for the things I've done.
I also know that through the saving grace of Jesus Christ, I've been forgiven and saved. (Maybe one day I'll believe that and lay my burdens down).
God has forgiven me. He loves me. All my faults. All my failings. He still loves me. No human on earth can love us so unconditionally.
We try. But people are people and because we live in a flawed and sinful world we can never live up to the love of the Lord.
To bask in the glow of his glory.
No matter the time of day. God it faithful. If ever there is a love we should shout from the rooftops..
He is faithful.. Even when I am not.
It's funny the little things we miss. The church we attend doesn't say the Lord's prayer or the doxology. I love our little church but miss the two.
Change is always good, but some things bring us comfort.
Below is my favorite version of the Lord's prayer.
Deliver us from the evil one. That's my prayer.
Matthew 6:9-139 “This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,[a]
but deliver us from the evil one.[b]’
I thank the Lord for my friends. Oh the things they have been through with me. Good, bad and ugly.
God is good,
From the beginning of time life on earth has been in constant motion. The earth itself has gone through many changes, from land to water to ice ages and because of this plants and animals have changed over time. Technology has changed exponentially over the past few decades. I often think about people who have lived through the changes of the past half century and then some. What must they think of the world today?
At the end of the day the earth does what the earth has always done. Change.
But one thing remains forever. The word of the Lord is the same today as it has been from the beginning of time. The good news is His word will be the same tomorrow.
In a crazy ever changing world what comfort there is in knowing that One thing remains...
Your love never fails it never gives up it never runs out on me....
One thing remains
I say start with the Father.. His wisdom and guidance is so much better than my own. We tell ourselves lies, beat ourselves up and give ourselves terrible advice. Don't listen to yourself. Listen to your heavenly Father
Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.
1 Thessalonians 4:14
For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.
