Maple Milk Chocolate Pudding/Dipping Sauce with Crispy Bacon Lardons
From Hot Chocolate by Michael Turback
1 cup heavy cream
4 ounces milk chocolate, chopped
1 10-ounce slab of hickory-smoked bacon
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 tablespoon organic Grade A maple syrup, plus more for garnish
In a saucepan over medium-low heat, bring the cream to a boil. Remove from heat and pour over the chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit for 5 minutes.Cut the bacon into 1-inch-wide strips. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the bacon until golden brown and crispy. Drain the bacon on paper towels. Stir the cream and chocolate mixture slowly to combine. Add the butter and maple syrup and stir until the butter is melted and the ingredients are thoroughly combined. Pour the chocolate mixture into tall vodka glasses, drizzle with extra maple syrup. Serve immediately with a piece of bacon arranged across the top of the glass.
I don't own vodka glasses but I like the way this cat thinks.
As for this artery clogging concoction...well....I have been eating turkey bacon for awhile so this bacon was a bit overwhelming. Strange, huh? This is definitely something I 'd offer a chick during her womans times. Thick chocolate and salty bacon to satiate those raging hormones.
Try this intense treat with a twist if you dare. Muahahaha!!!!
