AmyI was scanning my cookbooks and happened upon a couple of recipes for flavored butters. I had the ingredients for one on hand and decided to give it a try. It compliments the spice bread quite well. The recipe states that it should be enjoyed for breakfast, on a southern biscuit or on top of a stack of pancakes or a warm, crispy Belgian waffle. Salty Honey-Matcha Butter From The Year of Cozy By Adrianna Adarme (Make sure to check out Adrianna's site A Cozy Kitchen) Makes 1/4 cup 2 tablespoons honey, divided 1/2 teaspoon matcha green tea powder 1/4 teaspoon fine-grain sea salt 1/4 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature 1. In a small bowl, add 1 tablespoon of the honey. Pour in the matcha and whisk vigorously until no lumps are visible. Pour in the remaining 1 tablespoon honey and the salt. Add the butter and mix until completely combined. 2. Serve softened or chilled. To chill, transfer the butter to the center of a sheet of plastic wrap. Shape the butter into a log and wrap tightly. Store in the fridge for at least 2 hours. So Amy made two bread recipes this past week.. Which is great.. Totally makes up for my sad excuse for bread. Enjoy!! Amy, Nikita and Georgia
