NikitaI made Pear Oatmeal Bites for a hike that we are taking this weekend. I've submitted this recipe before as Blueberries and Craisins, but I really wanted to incorporate pears this time. They travel well and fill the tummy! Oh, and check out my cute centerpiece made out of a rustic-looking milk carrier with glass milk jugs. #redesigningbreakfastnook GeorgiaYep. That's right I made scones, not just my normal Lemon Blueberry. Oh no.. This challenge was about pears.. I saw this recipe for Chai Pear Scones and I was all like YES!! These were (are) soooo delicious. The chai and pear combo.. Mmmm Add in the cinnamon glaze. Oh my word.. I'm in heaven Even the non-complimentary husband said he liked them. JenIt’s been a busy week of volleyball and I’ve run out of time to make something pear-y!! Darn. (Literally – volleyball EVERY SINGLE DAY for at least one person in our house, and it continues for the next 3 days.) See you next week! :) AmyI feel that pears don't receive the attention that they deserve. So this is an excellent challenge. To me pears are somehow classy. There's an odd sort of elegance to the taste of a pear. Like a fine wine or delicate perfume. I found a lovely recipe that made my home smell well homey. Honey, cloves, cinnamon, citrus and, of course, pears. Without further ado, I give you: Honeyed Pears in Puff Pastry (from Taste of Home) I switched it up a tad to be a little bit healthy. For one, I used far less puff pastry (carbs are the enemy) and I substituted a sprinkling of Penzeys Cake Spice for the syrup. Exotic warmth comes to mind in tasting this delight. I was not disappointed. A busy, beautiful week for all of us.
Until next week, Nikita, Georgia, Jen and Amy
