GeorgiaBest quote of the weekend. Savannah - Sometimes I'm more Randy than Randy Oddly I didn't take a lot of food photos. But I will share a Thanksgiving cole slaw recipe with you Thanksgiving Slaw Amy Thanksgiving, a holiday that I love because it's food oriented. Ironically, I don't much care for most of the "traditional" food associated with it. Whatever. I have to work on Thanksgiving so there's no point in making dinner. Every year we receive big a.f. spiral ham as a bonus at work. So that's a plus. Unfortunately we get them on Tuesday and today is Sunday. So I have carefully devised a near future meal. As in next Sunday I shall have "ham sliders". Dig this. I made cranberry sauce and sweet potato biscuits today. A test run. And next Sunday I'll bake the ham and slap slices of ham and spoonfuls of cranberry sauce on the biscuits. Something like a Thanksgiving brunch. I love homemade cranberry sauce. I make it by the mason jar. Use leftovers in plain yogurt. Replace jelly on a PBJ. Dice celery and chop walnuts. Blend with mayo and diced chicken for a tangy chicken salad sandwich. And so on! Both recipes come from A Year Between Friends:3191 Click below for recipe My Mom's Cranberry Sauce by MAV SCB's Sweet Potato Biscuits By the time this will be posted Thanksgiving will have passed. I hope that everyone had a lovely one. We have officially kicked off the merry season. Happy Holidays everyone! Nikita On this Thanksgiving Day, I cooked dinner, and the boys started hanging Christmas lights outside. I started this meal prep the night before and made both Pumpkin and Pecan Pie as well as Cranberry Sauce and Heavenly Hash (or our version of it anyways). Of course today, I made the rest of the traditional entree items: Turkey and Gravy, Stuffing, Green Bean Casserole, Mashed Potatoes, and Candied Yams. It amazes me at how quickly we eat and can be finished after the hours of work that was put into the fine meal. I was done eating in under 20 mins, yet I spent 6 hours total on the whole meal. What amazes me more is how little of a dent we made in all of the dishes after filling up our plates. I'm thankful that dishes are done, and meals are made for the next few days. Next up ---> Pecan Pie! 😄 Happy Turkey Day! Love, 99 “Praise God even when you don’t understand what He is doing.” Henry Jacobsen Praying everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Georgia, Amy and Nikita
