AmySoooo...I'm still feeling ways about baking. I made this groovy smoothie parfait instead. I believe one could easily replace mango with bananas or pineapple though. As you can see by my photo, the fresh fruit was the order of the day for me. Follow this link: Groovy smoothie parfait GeorgiaFor my bake this week I made fancy popcorn. Several different types. The first was a cinnamon bun popcorn. So so good.. I mean I was almost crying it was so good. The husband kept going back for more so food. Below is the link for the recipe. The only difference is I drizzled mine half almond bark (New find, new love) and the other half with melted orange candy melts (vanilla flavored) A very nice combo. I also made the old stand by of dark chocolate and caramel popcorn (Moose Munch copy cat) click link below Cinnamon Bun Popcorn Nikita Here's another submission for Sunday Bakery! That's two weeks! I really shouldn't be eating all of these sweets, you HAVE to celebrate when it's someone's birthday! My colleague celebrated on Friday with us at work. We have a Super, Not-So-Secret Birthday Club that decorates your desk and makes goodies for you on your birthday. It's a lot of fun to belong to a group that brings smiles to faces on their special day. This time, I made Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting. I've heard that Sprinkles Cupcakes are the best on the West Coast, so I found a copycat recipe from Cooking Classy on Pintrest (of course!) They were moist and chocolatey! Enjoy! Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting Happy Sunday!!
Amy, Georgia and Nikita (for the second week in a row) NikitaY'all! This has to be my most beautiful creation ever!! A girlfriend of mine turned thirty years old today on St.Patty's Day. It's a two-tiered white cake with a buttercream frosting in purple ombre. The rosettes are incredibly simple using a star tip and swirl motion. It broke my heart to cut into it, but I did have several compliments from strangers including a request to make a wedding cake!!!🤣 🤔 Ingredients Classic White Cake

AmyI was fiending for some cantaloupe and I found this simple recipe. I love this it can be breakfast, snack or even a no fuss dessert. At the moment I'm enjoying it for breakfast. With warmer weather around the corner this would be quite refreshing. Melon with Yogurt and Fresh Mint Simplicity from a Monastery Kitchen Brother Victor-Antoine d'Avila-Latourrette 3 small ripe melons 4 tablespoons lemon juice One 16-ounce container low-fat plain yogurt Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste (another shameless plug for Penzeys, their French Grey Sea Salt works wonderfully here) A few fresh mint leaves, finely chopped and minced 6 servings 1. Slice each melon in two equal parts. Clean the insides and discard the seeds. Sprinkle some lemon juice over each half. 2. Place the yogurt in a bowl, add remaining lemon juice, salt, pepper, and part of the finely chopped mint and mix well. Refrigerate until chilled. 3. Just before serving, fill each melon hollow with the yogurt mixture. Sprinkle the remaining chopped mint on the top of each melon. Serve it cold. I only wanted a couple of slices rather than half a melon. And I was unable to find fresh mint so I used a couple teaspoons of dried peppermint. Happy Sunday,
I think Nikita has found her calling Nikita, Amy and Georgia AmyI just realized that I should had made this before the Oscars. Would have made for a fun treat for people who have 4 hours of their lives wasted . I prefer watching that back end of the Golden Globes because everyone there is usually hammered by then. I digress. Honey Peanut Butter Popcorn from thegingerwhisk.com I'm sharing the recipe as it is on the Ginger Whisk blog but I did not use nearly as much sugar and honey as the recipe calks for. 3/4 cup popcorn kernels 1/2 cup honey 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup peanut butter (crunchy or creamy) 1/2 tsp. vanilla Pop the popcorn. Sift and remove unpopped kernels. Put in a large bowl. In a medium saucepan, melt the honey and sugar together, stirring occasionally, until simmering. Allow to simmer for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, over medium-low heat. Add peanut butter abd vanilla and stir until well combined. Remove from heat and pour the sauce over the popcorn. Mix well until the popcorn is evenly coated. Add: salted roasted peanuts, chocolate covered candies, or chocolate chips. GeorgiaApparently mug cake is my go to these days when I need to satisfy my sweet tooth. Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Mug Cake Single serving creamy, fluffy, eggless peanut butter cake mixed with gooey melted chocolate chips. Cooks in the microwave and is ready in minutes. Ingredients:
Very important note.. Don't overcook. It doesn't necessarily burn.. But dries it out terribly.. Happy Sunday
Amy and Georgia AmyI finally got a thermometer for my oven. Boy howdy, that was worth the investment! I had recently found some blood oranges and I love them. I decided to make blood orange pound cake. A Cozy Kitchen has a beautiful blood orange pound cake and I made a basic glaze-free version of it. I looked around for a less sugary glaze and came up short. The cake itself has quite a bit of sugar so I just kept it naked. The original recipe is a bundt. I don't have a bundt pan. Instead I made mini loaves. I'll keep one and share the others. Buttery and citrusy! Do look at the original though, it's so lovely. GeorgiaWith the chili cook-off I wanted to make a dessert that "went" with it.. Sounds weird I know.. But when I found this Nutella Rice Krispie Treats I thought I found a perfect match for it. Plus the husband just likes Rice Krispie Treats and I like Nutella. What a winning combo Happy Sunday
