Recipe #1 – Teriyaki Burgers

- ¼ cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp crushed pineapple
- 1-1/2 tsp minced fresh gingerroot
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- 1 egg white, lightly beaten
- 1/3 cup dry bread crumbs
- 3 green onions, chopped
- 2 tbsp crushed pineapple
- 3/4 lb ground beef
- 3/4 lb ground turkey
- 6 slices pineapple
- 6 hamburger buns, toasted
- 6 slices of provolone cheese
- 6 slices tomato
- 6 lettuce leaves
Directions:
- Mix first group of ingredients in bowl, set ketchup mixture aside.
- Mix second group of ingredients in separate bowl. Add 3 tbsp of ketchup mixture. Shape into 6 burgers.
- Grill over medium heat for 5-7 minutes each side. Brush occasionally with remaining ketchup mixture.
- Grill pineapple slices for 2-3 minutes each side, or until heated through.
- Build burger: bun bottom, lettuce, burger, cheese, tomato, pineapple slice, bun top.
