I had some for dessert and brought the rest with me to nosh on for breakfast. NikitaO.M.Cheesecake. Of course I found this recipe on the treasure trove of recipes called Pintrest. It was rated 5 stars with 88 reviews, so I had to give it a try. Cheesecakes make me nervous with the cracking & the water baths & the leaky springform pans. There just seems to be so much that can go wrong, but this was EVERYTHING RIGHT! There is no starch in this recipe so the texture is creamy but firm. I did let it set up for two days before I topped it with the ganache and served. It has Reese's Peanut Butter cups inside the cheesecake batter and sits on an Oreo crust. I shared with the cohort of colleagues and only ate one slice, but there will be more in the future. This is a perfect holiday recipe to impress the guests! GeorgiaYesterday saw me "catering" a doTerra essential oils party for the husbands cousin Angie. Her request was that I use some of the oils in whatever I made.
Now I must confess I've never considered adding essential oils to my cooking / baking before because I never considered them to be fit for human consumption. I made simple chewy sugar cookies with a simple cookie frosting. However I added with wild orange oil in the frosting. Can I just say WOW.. The sugar cookies are spot on.. The frosting was the frosting on the cake or in this case the frosting on the cookie. Before I continue. This is not an ad for doTerra. The process of making essential oils involves distilling the ingredients. Thereby rendering natural ingredients no longer "all natural" Please consider doing a little research on essential oils before using them. Topically, internally or even diffusing. AmyI didn't plan anything to bake this week so I rifled through the bags of recipes that Tremain had given to me last year and I came up with this. Hippo g ya. I o o (Trixie's comments). Recipes from 3-Minute Brand Quick and Old Fashioned Oats circa 1987 Several bread recipes involving mini loaf pans that you could conveniently order from the same paper will the recipes. Of the 4 recipes I went with German Chocolate Oatmeal Loaves. Why this recipe? Because it was the only for which I had the ingredients! Turns out these little f'ing loaves are quite nice with a cup of coffee. So here is the recipe for these new fangled mini loaf pans. German Chocolate Oatmeal Loaves 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup quick cooking oats 1 cup packed brown sugar 1/3 cup cocoa 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 cups shredded coconut 1 cup milk 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted (2018 version coconut oil) In a large mixer bowl, stir together flour, oats, brown sugar, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Add coconut. Pour in milk; blend thoroughly. Stir in melted butter. Spoon batter into 6 greased mini-loaf pans. Bake at 350°F oven for 35 minutes. Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack. I ate it warm with butter lovingly melted on top. GeorgiaSo I bake.. well kinda. It had to go into the oven for a little bit. So it's bake like. Amy and Georgia Amy A healthy-ish twist on carrot cake. I loved it warm with a pat of butter lovingly melted on top. Carrot Honey Loaf I changed up the canola oil for grape seed oil and used cinnamon creamed honey. Too good! Amy Nikita I found a recipe on Pintrest for an absolutely moist & delicious Carrot Cake. The cake was so large that I decided to share slices with colleagues at work. One lady said, "Worth. Every. Calorie." I'd say that speaks for itself!! Check it out. I found this recipe in one of absolute favorite cookbooks in my collection. Cold Weather Cooking by Sarah Leah Chase. There's loads of sugar in it. I substituted the sugar, eggs and margarine with unsweetened apple sauce. For the topping I switched out the cream for unsweetened vanilla almond milk and it worked. I can't really give you proper measurements for the substitutions. I winged it. I shall share the recipe as it is written in the cookbook though and I'll labor under the belief that you all can figure it out!
