I had some for dessert and brought the rest with me to nosh on for breakfast. NikitaO.M.Cheesecake. Of course I found this recipe on the treasure trove of recipes called Pintrest. It was rated 5 stars with 88 reviews, so I had to give it a try. Cheesecakes make me nervous with the cracking & the water baths & the leaky springform pans. There just seems to be so much that can go wrong, but this was EVERYTHING RIGHT! There is no starch in this recipe so the texture is creamy but firm. I did let it set up for two days before I topped it with the ganache and served. It has Reese's Peanut Butter cups inside the cheesecake batter and sits on an Oreo crust. I shared with the cohort of colleagues and only ate one slice, but there will be more in the future. This is a perfect holiday recipe to impress the guests! Now I must confess I've never considered adding essential oils to my cooking / baking before because I never considered them to be fit for human consumption. I made simple chewy sugar cookies with a simple cookie frosting. However I added with wild orange oil in the frosting. Can I just say WOW.. The sugar cookies are spot on.. The frosting was the frosting on the cake or in this case the frosting on the cookie. Before I continue. This is not an ad for doTerra. The process of making essential oils involves distilling the ingredients. Thereby rendering natural ingredients no longer "all natural" Please consider doing a little research on essential oils before using them. Topically, internally or even diffusing. |
