AmyA couple of weeks ago Tremain handed me three old Homeland hamburger bags. Contained within was a trove of recipes. Handwritten, newspaper clippings, etc. I found a rather curious recipe for banana bread. It appears to be clipped from a local newsletter. Perhaps it's the Oklahoma way of making banana bread? I should point out that all of the recipes seem to date from the late 70's- mid-90's After enjoying a slice or two I decided to make an Elvis. That's right...peanut butter, bacon and banana on banana bread! Live mas people... Banana Bread Cream: 1 C. sugar 3/4 C. shortening Add: 2 eggs, beaten 3 bananas, mashed 3 Tbsp buttermilk 2 C. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla extract Bake 325°F. for about one hour. Use loaf pan. (This recipe makes one large loaf or 2 small loaves). Apparently this recipe was graciously submitted by Mrs. Edmund Gibson of Muskogee. And I thank her kindly. Note: Bananas should be over-ripe. GeorgiaSo.. I'm pretty sure most places has a Panera. But.. For some reason I last minute Lucy. And most nice bakeries in the area are closed on Sunday. So we stopped at Panera and got a ginormous cinnamon roll. Not bad. The plan this week is to stop during the week.. If not.. I'm hitting up the convenience store around the corner. ;) Happy Sunday..
