CammyKentucky Butter Cake is an absolute and unequivocal "YES!" With 1 1/2 cups of butter and 2 1/2 cups of sugar, I would definitely recommend either making it to take to some party and/or function or share with you neighbors as it is really difficult to resist the temptation of eating way more than one should! I served this one with strawberries and whipped cream, but it would be equally as good drizzled with caramel or chocolate. Oh, better yet, how about strawberries, chocolate drizzle and whipped cream?!?!
NikitaThe Great British Baking Show has become a new favorite of mine and hours upon hours have been spent binge-watching it. Christopher has even become quite the fan of watching extraordinary amateur Brit Bakers create the most tasty and beautiful treats. As much as I would love to try to recreate some of their challenges, I just don't have the endless supply of ingredients to bake or energy to wash the dishes. I did, however, try to recreate a popular candy & cake topper called Honeycomb. The Brit Bakers use Golden Syrup in their concoctions but the recipe I used called for corn syrup and honey. Golden Syrup is not easy to find in your local grocery chain. It came out just perfect and took less than 10 minutes to whip up. It takes about an hour to harden. Check out my Honeycomb Smash video below! NikitaPractice Cake!!! I made this naked Chocolate Chocolate Chip three-layer cake with Cream Cheese Frosting and a Chocolate Ganache Drip topped with Mixed Berries. Ganache drip was a little thicker than I had hoped for but overall I'm very pleased with the cake. My family had the opportunity to each this copycat chocolate cake recipe from Nothing Bundt Cakes and it. is. FANTASTIC! Spoiler Alert: Recipe calls for Boxed Cake Mix and a Bundt Pan. You would never know though after you add in your fixings of sour cream and pudding. Give it a try! You won't be disappointed. JenI got a BIG bag of lemons from a neighbor, so the recipe fun continues! This morning we made Lemon Crumb Muffins. The crunchy top is amazing, but I think the muffin itself could use a lot more lemon flavor. Next time I would double the lemon. Also, the lemon glaze says it’s made with regular sugar, so the texture is gritty; I just microwaved it into a simple lemon syrup before drizzling it on. And my daughter made a big pitcher of lemonade. I think we’ve used only half of our lemons so far! Happy baking ya'll!!
Nikita and Jen Cammy What happens when you want to make macarons and the recipe you find simply didn't work for you but another recipe has in the past? Well you make up your own recipe from each of the other two recipes to make it work for you! :) These turned out just the way I imagined they would. The macarons cinnamon/nutmeg flavors pair perfectly with the filling's eggnog flavor.
Sunday Bakery - Cookies. Cookies and more cookies.. Plus a little bit of gingerbread and scones12/19/2020 NikitaWOW! That's a LOT of cookies! Follow me @haysnik86 on IG to see more. This gingerbread was absolutely delicious! Yes, I had a little bit of gingerbread with my Cool Whip. How else are you supposed to do it? 😍😏 Georgia Had a little cookie decorating party yesterday and made these oh so yummy scones to munch. So the recipe is for cinnamon scones. No apples. That didn't quite compute for me so I added 2 small chopped apples to it. No regrets. How was the cookie decorating party? Pretty fantastic. Did I take a lot of photos? No. Maybe 2. Otherwise I just spent time with some of my favorite people. Afterwards the hubs and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary with another of our favorite people. His daughter Savannah. God is good. Counting down to the big day!
Giving thanks for the gift of friends and family. But most importantly the greatest gift given to mankind. The birth of the Savior. Merry Christmas! Nikita, Cammy and Georgia Cammy I love molasses cookies but I've never made them before today. Georgia was 100% accurate when she told me I would love them even more! I will most definitely be making these again
Cammy Pie -- coconut custard pie. There really isn't much else to say about it, except for how much I love coconut cream pie. Ok so custard isn't quite the same as cream, but close enough! It isn't as good as banana cream pie or lemon meringue pie either, but it sure was easy to make! Nikita25 Days of Cookies and here are the first five days! ❤️ 1. Cammy & Nikita Georgia This year had a lot of highs and lows for us. The highs out weigh the lows by far. Moving home, seeing most of our favorite people. The lowest low was not seeing some of our favorite people. Who were supposed to be here for Thanksgiving. So Ran and I made the most of it.
How do you spend time with all your friends and family and not horn in on their Holiday with their families? Have a day after Thanksgiving Pie Party. Which is exactly what we did. Thanksgiving was a pretty small affair with family, but Friday was spent with more family and friends. We served several pies. Pumpkin, Pecan, key lime and I found a new and yummy way to make apples. An apple pandowdy. Never heard of it? Neither had I. The recipe called for allspice, but did not have any on hand so substituted with cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, fresh crushed cloves and cardamon. Served it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. For me.. Being surrounded by so many loved ones made for one of the best holidays. Praying everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving Georgia NikitaNot quite a baked dish this week but delicious nonetheless! This pie does best in the freezer. Take it out 5-10 mins before serving, and it becomes a perfect marshmallowy softness with a stiffer crust. The beginning of our "Pumpkin Spice" fall! More to come...... Jade (Jen's daughter) Cammy I still have cans of pumpkin so what else should I do? Mom answered that question when she sent me the link for this pumpkin turtle cheesecake. It was worth the work to make it. I also probably should have left it in the fridge for several hours longer before I cut into it as it still hadn't completely chilled. It was still delicious! I had a serious sweet tooth today. While I was waiting for the cheesecake to chill, I baked some brownies with caramel as well... Busy bake week for the ladies and I LOVE Jade's cupcakes
Until next week, Jade, Nikita and Cammy |
